STOP IT GEORGE!

b000fqjaiw01_aa240_sclzzzzzzz_v52369588_.jpgOK, so I saw this morning that George Lucas is releasing the original Star Wars Trilogy on DVD. This is getting absolutely ridiculous. How many versions can be released. I really like Star Wars and wanted to own them but also wanted a DVD of the original version. After numerous special editions came out I finally decided to get it even though I do not like the new scenes or some of the changes that Lucas made to the films. Now he is releasing the original versions but they are not going to be high quality anamorphic wide-screen, but rather more similar to the VHS version. I suppose this means that he will be able to re-re-re-re-release them in the future. Lucas has been involved with 6 great films (Indiana Jones series) and then decided to just ruin those and milk them until his death. Fortunately it seems that he does not have the power and control over the Indiana Jones series as he does over Star Wars. This is silly.

  1. I would have to agree. It appears ol’ George will milk this cow until the udders hang limp, wrinkly and dry.

But hey, this is his legacy. The man will make another eight bajillion dollars off this particular release of the same film. If I were Lucas and had all that money, I can’t say I wouldn’t do the same, you know? Then you could talk about how lame I was as I passed you by in my own personal spacecraft that I had built with a few million dollars I found lying around the house that I had forgotten about. Not that I’d hear you anyway, since I’d have money coming out of my ears.

  2. Help me Peter Jackson, you’re my only hope.
